Clients are self referred, referred by friends and family, one of our community partners, their insurance, or adjudicated through juvenile justice department. Inpatient treatment facilities refer clients to us for intensive after care.
Once the client makes an appointment, a series of assessments are given by the clinician appointed to his/her case. Then the client’s assessment result along with individual interviews of client and family members is presented to the staff and the appropriate treatment plan is implemented. Often the client will begin mental health counseling after the alcohol/ drug treatment is completed or progressed to the point that the client is ready to work on the emotional and behavioral issues preventing the success of the client. Family member are involved in the treatment process. The community support and resources are also included in the treatment.
The structure of the treatment varies for each individual client based on their diagnosed level of care that comes from the assessment. Some clients are seen several times per week for a series of individual counseling combined with family interaction, an educational component with random urine analysis testing. Some clients need only to receive the educational component and /or individual counseling. There is a wide variety of combinations of treatment that is client based specifically designed for the individual.
A typical treatment plan for substance abuse issues is approximately 12 weeks; however, it can continue well beyond that if the client wants or needs to continue. Mental health issues can be ongoing depending on the individual and family needs.
